Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix Movie Review
So for those of you who have not seen the movie yet, please do not click the cut if you don't want to be spoiled.

I haven't been to a midnight showing for HP before, so this time was a first, now that I think about it. But it was great fun, and we definitely ran into some high school kids we knew...and our school drama teacher, which was kind of weird. But anyway, lots of Gryffindors around and I was surprised there weren't much of any other house. I do think there was a Death Eater lurking around. So on to my review of the movie.

It's understandable that the book had to be cut down for this film. And while the plot was kind of underdeveloped for a movie, I would say they did work well with what they had. I mean with the main points, it made sense to those who have read the book. For those who haven't, I'm pretty sure it was a bit confusing. I had to keep answering questions during and after te movie (and I was quite honoured to do so).

Daniel Radcliffe's acting has definite improved because he's getting more snappy and you can tell he's always isolating himself as Harry. However, I do think he needs to bring out that anger more...because there is a difference between being irritated and outright scary angry. When Harry was trying to tell Sirius he felt angry all the time, I really had a hard time believing it.

I think I laughed at Dudley because he was just sooo ghetto. Like little details like that, I think that's what made the movie funny at times. Because as a book, this one is quite serious but for the film, I'm glad David Yates added some comical remarks and things like that. And I have no idea, but I feel like the Dementors were pitiful this time. Surprisingly, everything leading to the trial matched what I pictured in my mind, except for Grimmauld place. I was expecting a house, but if it's an apartment or whatever, so be it. The inside though was amazing. That's definitely how old and rickety the Black House would be. And the first glimpse of Lucius!! Yays.

Okay soo...Umbridge. She was perfect From the cough to her too sweet manner...she was such a bitch and she was good at it. And her office full of kitties...I laughed at that. Oh man! And how many decrees there were...she totally had Filch drooling over her. The only thing I didn't like was how she threatened Harry to use the Cruciatus curse on him when she caught him in her office. Which obviously did NOT happen. Because he should have had his invisibility cloak on. And gahh...so mad that things got screwed up with that stuff.

Cho...makes me pissed off. I'm sorry but her character was soo off this time...because she was just a tool. I mean, not like I care, but I think Katie Leung could have been a little more cheerful as Cho...and why is she alone all the time. I mean I know she's crying over Cedric but she's still supposed to have friends and that bloody kiss was sooo poorly done. Harry and Cho reminded me of Lincoln and Jordan in The Island, except at least Ewan and Scarlett made it more convincing that they didn't know what intimacy was, and they caught on a lot faster than these two. Then again, I like Ewan and Scarlett much better. I was not convinced that Harry and Cho were a thing or whatever...talk about awkwardness.

WWW! Totally epic. Just because I loved that ear since it was literally an ear and their products...totally realistic with all the effects amongst all those testers. Skiving Snackboxes and Wildfire Whizzbangs...were pretty awesome. I wish they had the portable swamp though. That would have been hilarious. I'm actually kind of glad they did it through O.W.L.s rather than another one of Harry's visits to Umbridge.

Umm...Snape-a-doodle! His memory was omgsosad. I'm kind of disappointed he was only in Occlumency scenes and such...because really, Alan Rickman is always so great in playing his characters. It's a shame we couldn't see much of him. I did like it when he rejected Umbridge with no Veritaserum, and when she was interviewing him...omg! He was sooo pissed. Snape rules. And I believe he is good in my book.

I actually think Rupert and Emma could have had more lines but they did well with what they day. Evanna was splendid as Luna...and I loved how weird and awkward she was! I think she was one of my favourites in this movie! Like he hair was soo long and her outfits...totally Luna. They really should have used the Quibbler for Harry's article because that would have made more impact about Voldemort being back. I'm glad they brought Seamus into his little grudge though...and having Dean introduce him...hahaha. Awesome.

Okay...sooo...the Department of Mysteries= epic. I love the fight scenes and everything and just wow. The only thing I hated was the Veil...smoke? No. Avada Kedavra instead of Stupefy? NO. We already know what the Killing Curse is and that it's green. From what I can remember, there's no recollection that there even is a Stunning spell. Bahhhh. And since when did the Death Eaters become so ugly? I thought the KKK thing was bad...but Darth Vaders? Now that's pushing it. And OMG...THE DEATH EATERS AND ORDER DO NOT FLOAT! When did they float? It's called APPARITION!

No angry!Harry. Just sulking!Harry at the end in Dumbledore's office. Was that even his office? I don't know...but it was like...messy. Like a everything-must-be-sold kind of way. I wanted Harry to throw everything in the room and yell. But the only yelling he did in this movie was yelling "Look at me!" after they tried to see how Mr. Weasley was.

Ending...is tacky as usual. The whole teamwork stuffage and let's see what HBP brings to us. Which leads me to say...they better give Tom Felton a lot to do or else HBP will be a disaster in the making. Because Draco is actually an important part of the HP series, even though he is a nuisance to Harry. But they cut out that scene Lucius going to Azkaban and that's an important fact that leads Draco to work for Voldemort and ahhh! No one is going to get that when the sixth movie comes out because then they will all think Draco is a bad guy and he isn't!

So anyway...I still like PoA and GoF better, in the order. Than this movie, then CoS, and then PS. And that is just the basics for ya. I could go on and on, but I'll spare anymore commentary. I can't wait until this comes on DVD so I can rewatch it and make fun of it, like I do for all the other movies. It's rather fun.
